[Archive] - Arrivals and Departures (2003-2006)

Tim Mossad is a very welcome addition to our trombone section, having previously played with Westoe Colliery Band
January 2006
Welcome to Joe Sweeney who has joined us, bringing his skills to complete our percussion team, following the departure of Iain Wilson
January 2006
Welcome to Simon Crick, who joins the band on cornet. Simon previously played with Tewit Youth Band and more recently with Grange Moor Brass Band, and is an excellent addition to the Band's front row line-up.
January 2006
The Band wish Ange Heninghem all the best as she leaves us to concentrate on her career.
July 2005
Best wishes to Iain Wilson, who has moved on to join the once famous Yorkshire Imperial Band, after providing support to the percussion section of Harrogate Band over the last year.
January 2006
Welcome to Ian Bryant, who joins the band on cornet
January 2005
Best wishes to Philip Harris who has left the band to take up a position on tenor horn with the United Co-op Yorkshire Brass Band. We're sure the offer of a free trip to New Zealand and Singapore next year, as part of that band's team to compete in the 125th New Zealand Brass Band Championships, had nothing to do with his decision! We're sorry to see him go but thank him for his dedicated support whilst he was with us.
November 2004
Dave Nichols, who has provided a great level of support for the cornet front bench as second-man down to Principal Rob, has left the Band. Pressure of work, the long distances he has to travel and his conducting commitments to Driffield Band finally beat Harrogate Band into second place. We wish Dave all the best in his career and hope he can find the time to take up the cornet again soon!
November 2004
Adrian Lowes is welcomed to the Band on euphonium. Formerly playing with Skipton Band he has, in recent weeks, been a regular stand-in covering our principal euphonium seat and helping out at the Malton contest. We're delighted he has agreed to join the band formally.
November 2004
Iain Wilson has recently moved to Harrogate to set up his new business, ABC Music for musical instrument rentals and sales. An accomplished percussionist, previously with Spennymoor Town Band, he is a welcome addition to our skilled percussion team.
November 2004
Cornet and horn player Ange Heninghem has joined the band and is currently occupying the Repiano position. Having previously played with the Tewit Band, she has already made an impression on the Band and we are delighted to welcome her.
October 2004
We were sad to say au revoir to Rachel Higginson, flugel and cornet. Rachel had joined the band nearly two years ago and had rapidly made her mark musically and socially - rising to the heady rank of bandmaster (or bandmistress as she preferred to be known). As the daughter of a former conductor (John Higginson) she was already known to several band members - who remembered her tagging along with her mum and dad when an infant! Now she is a dentist and unfortunately she has had to move to Hull to a new post. We wish her all the very best on the East Coast.
May 2004
Welcome to Philip Harris who joins the band on tenor horn. Phil was previously a member of Cottingham Band. He has perfectly filled the gap left by Gemma.
January 2004
Au revoir and best wishes to Precious Lowe who has left the band due to commitments at work.
December 2003
Welcome back to Lynne Stockdale who, after her travels over the last year to the Antipodes, has settled back in Harrogate. Lynne joins us playing Repiano cornet.
November 2003
Farewell to Gemma Pitt, 1st Horn, who leaves us to take up a similar position with Rothwell Temperance Band in Leeds. Gemma has been a great player, friend and helper with the band during her three years with us and we wish her all the very best with her new band.
November 2003
Joining the band on BBb Bass, we are happy to welcome Malcolm Holmes. With an long and illustrious playing career in the Salvation Army, firstly with Scarborough Citadel Band, and latterly with Leeds West Hunslet Band, Malcolm is a fine addition to our team!
